2 Rohingya yaba traders killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’
Two Rohingya yaba traders were killed in a gunfight with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf upazila of the district on Monday (January 6).

A locally-made weapon, 20000 pieces of yaba pills and two rounds of cartridges were seized from the spot.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ismail, 28, son of late Sultan Ahmed, of Rohingya camp-22 of Teknaf and Helal Uddin, 22, son of Md. Abu Syed.

Cox's Bazaar BGB-34 captain Ali Haider Azad Ahmed told Banglanews: “Two bullet-injured unidentified men were taken to Ukhiya hospital, but doctors declared them dead. Later, dead bodies were identified as Rohingyas.”

Ali Haider Azad also said separate cases were filed with Ukhiya police station in this regard.
