1947 insolvent artists get assistance from PM relief fund
Some 1,947 film, radio and television set artistes, technologists and concerned employees got Tk 2,500 each as donation from the Prime Minister’s Alleviation and Welfare Fund through the coronavirus outbreak.
The insolvent singers, artistes, producers, directors and employees of distinct categories at Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and film industry received a total of Tk 48,67,500 in donation, in line with the PM’s Press Wing.
Of the full total recipients, 165 persons are of Bangladesh Television (BTV)’s Cameraman Association of Bangladesh, 42 workers of Bangladesh Shooting House Owners Association, 117 of Shooting Unit Microbus Drivers Cooperatives Association, 447 of Bangladesh Media Light-guy Association and 110 of Television Media Makeup Artist Association.
Of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), 231 are of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association, 80 of Bangladesh Film Makeup Artistes Association, 42 of Bangladesh Chalachitra Angosojjakar Samity, 15 of Bangladesh Film Assistant Art Directors Association, 88 of Bangladesh Media Light-man Association, 35 of Cine Still Photographers Association, 256 of Bangladesh Film Assistant Managers Association, 325 cinema hall staff and three workers of Directors Guild.
Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association General Secretary Zayed Khan expanded sincere thanks and gratitude to the prime minister for standing next to the artistes and performers on this crisis period.
"By this gesture, Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina again proved that she is a humanitarian head, she is the mom of humanity," he explained.
