PBI asked to probe sedition circumstances against Babunagari-Mamunul
A Dhaka courtroom on Monday asked Law enforcement Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit probe article on the sedition instances filed against Hefazat-e Islam ameer Junayed Babunagari and two others.
Both other accused are Mamunul Haque, joint secretary general of the Hefajat, and Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, Senior Naib-e-Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sotyabrata Sikder directed the DIG of the PBI to submit the investigation article within January 7, 2021.
Muktijuddha Mancha Central Committee President Aminul Islam Bulbul and executive president and founder of Bangabandhu Foundation Advocate Moshiur Malek filed the instances against the trio today for defaming Bangabandhu.
On Sunday, Supreme Courtroom lawyer Md Jishan Mahmud directed a prayer to the Senior Secretary of the general public Safe practices Division of the house Ministry trying to find permission to data file the sedition circumstance against Babunagari and Mamunul Huq.
In his prayer, Jishan Mahmud brought up that Khelafat Majlish leader Mamunul Huq and Faizul Karim strongly criticised the construction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's statue at a rally in Dhaka on November 13 last.
Warning the government, this individual (Mamunul Huq) said he'd commit a further 'Shapla Chattar' and threw aside the statue unless the federal government abandoned its intend to construct it.
Alternatively, at a mahfil at Hathazari in Chattogram at night of November 29, Hefazat-e Islam ameer Junayed Babunagari threatened to draw down all statues whichever party erects them.
On Saturday (December 5), an under-building statue of Bangabandhu was vandalized found in Kushtia.
