139 undergoing treatment at SBMC
A total of 139 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMC), Barishal, according to authorities.
The numbers of the dengue patients are increasing day by day in the city. Among the 139 patients, 92 are male, 39 female and eight children.
In the last 24 hours, 35 people were admitted to the hospital after being affected by the mosquito-borne disease, said the hospital authorities.
A total of 216 dengue patients were admitted to the hospital from July 16 to August 3. Among them, 75 have returned home after treatment while two patients died.
Dr Md. Rakib Hossain, director of the hospital, said a control room has already been opened to proved assistance to dengue patients. A several ward for the dengue patients will be opened soon, he added.
