Govt takes on challenge of dengue prevention
LGRD Minister Tajul Islam termed dengue and chikunguniya fevers are challenges for the government, to fight.
He urged people from all classes and professions to put efforts together, against the mosquito-borne viral fevers.
The minister, as the chief guest, made the urge during launching 'Countrywide Mosquito Killing and Cleanliness Week' beginning from Thursday (July 25).

"Hope we will destroy breeding of Aedes mosquitoes through observing the mosquito eradication week," he added.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon, cultural personalities including actors Ilias Kanchan and Mousumi, noted activist-columnist Syed Abul Maksud and the city corporations' officials were present.
Atiqul Islam and Sayeed Khokon emphasized awareness among residents of the capital city, to curb outbreak of dengue.
To mark beginning of 'Countrywide Mosquito Killing and Cleanliness Week', the participants took a rally to Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, bringing out from Manik Mia Avenue.
The activity and awareness week will end on July 31.
