Young Artists' 21st show begins today
A two-week '21st Young Artist Art Exhibition' will begin today at the auditorium of National Art Gallery of Shilpakala Academy, reports UNB.
Cultural Affairs Minister Assaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the exhibition as the chief guest while BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky will preside over the opening ceremony on July 14.
Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky said the exhibition will provide the young and budding artists with a great platform to expose their works to the art connoisseurs.
This year, 787 artists took part in a competition with 1976 paintings. Judges have selected 412 artworks of 380 artists to be exhibited finally.
A young artist will be awarded for the best work in the 'Young Artist Art Exhibition'. Moreover, three awards including honorary awards will be given in three categories - printmaking, painting and sculpture.
The name of winners will be announced on the opening day of the exhibition.The exhibition will remain open from 11am-8pm every day until July 29.
