Woman killed as train hits bus in Gazipur; Rail services of northern region halted
A female was killed as a train hit a bus at a rate crossing under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur district early Saturday.
Five other folks were also injured in the accident that occurred at Sonakhali area around 4am.
Mostafizur Rahman, train director, said a Dhaka-bound train of 'Nilsagar Express' hit a bus carrying some staff in the region, leaving one dead on the scene and five bus passengers injured.
The wounded were admitted to Upazila Health Complex.
Members of Kaliakoir Fire Service and Civil Defence are conducting rescue operation, the authorities station OC Monwar Hossain confirmed.
