Woman held with 100kg hemp in Ctg
Police arrested a woman with 100kg hemp in a drive conducted in Naniar colony in Frensis Road area under Kotwali police station of Chittagong on Saturday afternoon (Sep 15).
The arrestee is identified as Nazma Akhter, 35.
Police said it is the largest drug consignment seized under the police station area. A drug dealer by the name Alauddin, who is facing 10 cases, is the main leader of this ring.
Kotwali police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Mohsin told Banglanews that the drug ring brought the hemp from Brahmanbaria to pile the stock. On information, police conducted the raid and detained the woman. Efforts are underway to detain the rest of the ring members. A case filing is also underway under the Narcotics Act.
