Wahiduzzaman Diamond to direct film on Rohingya
National Film Award winning director Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond is currently busy with his upcoming venture Rohingya, which revolves around the Rohingyas who are currently living at different camps in Bangladesh.
The film aims to give the viewers a glimpse into the plight of the displaced Rohingya people, who fled violence and persecution in Myanmar in 2017 and 2018. 'The film will give the viewers a glimpse into the plight of the 7,30,000 Rohingyas who fled their country after a military campaign was launched by Myanmar army in the Rakhine state of Myanmar,' said Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond, who also wrote the script and screenplay of the film.
'I had planned to make a film on Rohingyas in 2012 and wrote a script back then. The film's shooting began on September 22 in 2017. I am looking forward to complete the shooting soon and want to release the film at the end of this year,' Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond told New Age.
'The film was shot at different locations in Cox's Bazar. I hope film lovers will find it entertaining,' he added. Umar Aich Oni, Jannat Akther Suchi, Shakiba, Emon and others are acting in the film.
The film will be released under the banner of Poth Multimedia Limited.
