UP member beaten to death in Rajbari
A Union Parishad member was beaten to death by miscreants at Bagduli Bazar in Pangsha upazila on Tuesday (September 10) night.
The deceased was identified as Shawkat Ali Mandal, a member of ward number 4 under Mourat Union Parishad and also general secretary of ward unit Awami League.
Habibur Rahman, chairman of Mourat UP, told Banglanews that Shawkat was sitting Mourat bazaar around 9:00pm. During the time, some criminals attacked him that left him injured critically.
Later, he was taken to Pangsha upazila health complex and then shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30am.
Ahsan Ullah, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station, said on information, a team of police rushed to crime scene at night. Drives are going on to arrest the attackers on UP member.
