Two local films to participate in Kolkata Int'l Film Fest
Two Bangladeshi films namely 'Alpha' and 'Chandrabati Kotha' will participate in the upcoming 25th Kolkata International Film Festival scheduled to be held at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, India from November 8-15.

Around 214 films from 75 countries will be screened in the festival.Nasiruddin Yousuff directed 'Alpha' portrays the discomfort of a person living in a third world cosmopolitan city in the age of globalization and marketing. The film represented Bangladesh at the 92nd Academy Awards, popularly known as Oscars.

Alpha stars Alamgir Kabir, Doyel Mash and ATM Shamsuzzaman, Heera Chowdhury, Ishrat Nishat, Mostafiz Noor Imran and others.

'Chandrabati Kotha' will have its premiere at the festival. The film, directed by N Rashed Chowdhury, is scheduled to hit local cinemas in January 2020.

The film, an adaptation of the ballads of Mymensingh Geetika, is based on the lives of mid-sixteenth century poet Dijabangshi Das and his young daughter Chandrabati.Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Gazi Rakayet and others have acted in the film.
