Two Jamaat leaders held in Sunamganj
Police on Thursday afternoon detained two local leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Doarabazar upazila of Sunamganj district on charge of planning to commit subversive acts.

Detainees Delwar Hossain is the Doarabazar South upazila unit Jamaat ameer, and Hafej Abdus Sattar is the Laxmipur Union Parishad Jamaat ameer.

Doarabazar Police Station officer in-charge Sushil Ranjan Talukder confirmed the matter, reports a Bangla online newspaper.

Acting on secret information that Delwar and Sattar were planning to carry out subversive acts, police, in separate drives, nabbed the former from Dohalia Bazar and the latter from Laxmipur Bazar, the OC said.

The detainees are accused in sabotage cases, the OC added.
