Tom Hanks says cinema halls will 'absolutely' survive COVID-19
Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks believes film theatres can "absolutely" sail through the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview, Hanks addressed the impact of COVID-19 on cinema halls which resulted in the release of many anticipated titles on various streaming platforms. Hanks calls the change to digital medium a good "due" change.

"A sea modification was due, anyway. It was coming. Will the film theatres still exist? Definitely, they will. In a few ways, I believe the exhibitors, once they're up and open, are going to have the freedom of choice of what movies they will take up", the actor said.

Hanks, whose latest silver screen release is Reports of the Globe, believes theatres will always be the go-to choice for big price range franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). "Big event motion pictures are going to rule the day at the cinemas", Hanks explained, adding that his Paul Greengrass-directed drama "may be the last adult movie about persons saying interesting things that will play on a huge screen".

"After this, to assure that people show up again, we're going to include the Marvel Universe and a variety of franchises." "The ocean change that is brought by COVID-19 is a slow train coming. I think you will see a lot of movies that may simply be streamed, and I think it'll be fine to find them that method because they will essentially be built and built and created for somebody's pretty good widescreen Television at their house," he said.
