Nolan disses contemporary comic book movies
Filmmaker Christopher Nolan features thrown shade on modern day comic book films, calling them a great 'engine of commerce' and likening video studios that churn them out to 'machines'. Nolan made the statements through the promotional tour for a e book on his films, compiled by Tom Shore.

He said that he was lucky to have made 'The Dark Knight' trilogy of movies when he did -- the first movie, Batman Begins, arrived three years before the primary Marvel Cinematic Universe film. He said that one of the primary advantages he had was that he was given the time taken between sequels. "

Whenever we did 'Batman Commences', we didn't know we'd do one and it took 3 years to do it and then four years prior to the next one. We'd the luxury of period. It didn't feel like a machine, an engine of commerce for the studio. As the genre becomes consequently powerful, those pressures become higher and greater.

It was the proper time." He said that his edition of the iconic superhero became popular because that facet of the tale had never been placed on screen. "It had been the right instant for the telling of the report I wanted to do," he explained, adding that he was given the freedom to do what he sought with the character.
