Susane Giti made 1st woman major general
Dr Susane Giti promoted as country’s first woman major general as she was adorned with the new rank badge at Army Headquarters.

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and Quarter Master General Lieutenant General Md Shamsul Haque adorned her with the new rank badge in presence of senior military officials on Sunday, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release said.

Major General Dr Giti’s husband Brigadier General (retd) Md Hossain Saad himself was a specialist military physician, BSS reports. 

Giti passed MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1985. In 1986, she joined Bangladesh Army as a physician. She attained FCPS degree in Hematology in 1996.

Major General Susane Giti observed duty of pathology specialist in UN Mission and different military hospitals.
At present, she is working as the head of Pathology Department at Armed Forces Medical College.

According to the release, Dr Giti’s promotion opened a new horizon towards Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s epoch making step in women empowerment in the country.
