Some AL leaders facing travel ban, says Quader
Mentioning that they have launched the crackdown from their own home, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said some leaders of the ruling party and its associate bodies are facing travel ban.
“I exactly don’t know how many leaders are facing travel ban. However, they’re under surveillance,” he said while talking to reporters after a meeting with a delegation of the World Bank and the United Nations at the Secretariat.
According to media reports, there is a travel ban on a total of 107 leaders of Awami League and its associate organisations.
About the plan of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry to allow casinos in the exclusive tourist zones for foreign tourists, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said no such decision has been taken yet by the government high-ups to this end.
