Shironamhin to release new album after 7 years
The popular band Shironamhin, known for its thought provoking songs, will be releasing a new album after seven years. Chief of the band Ziaur Rahman Zia confirmed that Shironamhin is currently working on the new album and it will feature a revamped line-up, which the band announced in 2017.
The upcoming album will be the sixth album of the band. It will be release in 2020. Shironamhin released its fifth album in 2013. 'We are currently working on our upcoming album. It will contain eight songs. We have already released five songs from the upcoming album on our YouTube channel and other streaming platforms. The songs are namely Jadukar, Bohemian, Barud Samudra, Ei ratey and Ei obelai. The songs have received a huge response from music lovers both at home and abroad,' said Ziaur Rahman Zia.
'Now-a-days music lovers prefer listening to songs on the online platforms over buying CD's. However, some still like to keep a collection which is why we would release a CD. We have not decided the name of the album yet,' Ziad added. Shironamhin's current line-up comprises of Ziaur Rahman Zia (bass guitar), Kazi Shafin Ahmad (drums), Diat Khan (guitar), Sheikh Ishtiaque (vocal) and Symon Chowdhury (keyboard).
Shironamhin, founded in 1996, has so far produced a number of hit songs including Duti pakhi, Bondho janala and Icche ghuri. The band is known for infusing traditional classical instruments such as sarod, esraj, mandira and dotara along with rock music. Albums of Shironamhin include 'Jahajee', 'Ichchhe Ghuri', 'Bondho Janala', 'Shironamhin Rabindranath' and 'Shironamhin Shironamhin'.
