Shakib-Mash to feature in domestic T20: Papon
Bangladesh banned all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and former ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza will feature in the upcoming domestic T20 competition, said Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan Papon on Tuesday.

Shakib is serving a one-year ban for failing to approach corrupt approaches and you will be absolve to play from coming October 29.

While Mashrafe refused to play in the three-team 50-over competition which will kick begin from October 11, the veteran all-rounder expressed his desire to play in the T20 competition that's scheduled from November 20.

“Certainly (Shakib will play in the domestic T20 tournament). That's all I understand,” Nazmul told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

“Mashrafe will play another one following the three-day game as he has suddenly found out about it in fact it is not like that he's not interested to play the three-team 50-over game. The truth is he must quarantine and it'll take the time for his preparation and fitness but he'll play another available tournament (domestic T20 competition),” he said.

Nazmul said they are yet to repair whether this T20 tournament is a corporate league or it will be backed by BCB but insisted that regardless of you will see a domestic T20 tournament.

“We are yet to finalise whether it'll be a corporate tournament or sponsored by the BCB. But it is confirmed that tournament is going to take place. In a single issue we were unable to make a decision today that was whether we would allow foreign players or not and I have taken a day’s time before making your choice,” said Nazmul.

“Apart from that almost anything is final and we are interested to set up a five-team tournament where we're able to have at least 75 local players can participate and we are able to do this,” he said.
