Security tightened ahead of Khaleda's bail hearing
Security measures have been tightened at Supreme Court ahead of the bail hearing of BNP chief Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable graft case.

Earlier on November 25, the Appellate Division fixed today for hearing on the bail of the BNP chief.

On November 14, Khaleda filed an appeal with the High Court seeking bail. But, she was denied bail.

A special court, on October 29 last year, jailed the BNP chief and three others for seven years in the corruption case.

Khaleda later moved the HC, which increased her sentence by three more years.

On August 8, 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the Zia Charitable Trust case with Tejgaon police against four people, including Khaleda Zia. They were accused of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
