Legal notice issued seeking amendments to DSA
A Supreme Court lawyer on Tuesday served a legal notice upon the government for proper amendments to nine sections of the just enacted Digital Security Act.
Lawyer SM Zulfikar Ali Zunu served the notice by registered mails to the Law Ministers and the Secretary, Information Minister and Secretary and to the cabinet secretary.
The notice sought immediate steps to amend sections no. 8, 21, 25, 28, 29, 31, 32, 43 and 53 within thirty days.
The much-talked-about 'Digital Security Bill, 2018' was passed in Parliament on September 19 and President Abdul Hamid assented to the Bill making it a law on October 8.
