Muslim Chy sworn in as CAG
Muslim Chowdhury was sworn in as Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on Tuesday (July 17).
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain administered the oath while Supreme Court Registrar General Dr. Zakir Hossain conducted the oath ceremony held at Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge.
Appellate Division Justices Hasan Foyez Siddique, Mirza Hossain Haidar, former CAGs and higher officials of the Finance Ministry were present at the ceremony.
President Abdul Hamid on Sunday (July 15) appointed Muslim Chowdhury as CAG for next five years.
The finance ministry issued a circular in this regard.
Muslim Chowdhury, who has been serving as secretary of Finance Ministry, will replace current CAG Masud Ahmed who was appointed as CAG on April 24 in 2013.
Muslim was appointed as Finance secretary on October 3 in 2017. Earlier he served as additional secretary of the Finance Department of the Finance ministry.
