Screening of 'Ghraan' at Goethe-Institute
Kamrul Ahsan Lenin-directed National Film Award-winning short film 'Ghraan' (The Smell) was screened on Sunday at Goethe-Institute in the capital.   

Lenin's debut 'Ghraan' is a film about rediscovering the relationship between father and a son. Ahkam, now a father somehow recalls snapshots of childhood and realizes his childly anguish on his poor father, which eventually takes him to an understanding of fatherhood.

The cast of the film includes Tauquir Ahmed, Saberi Alam, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Nirzhar Ahsan, Angona Islam, Rajanigandha Rofik, Emon, Rasel, Siam, Ghalib, Puja and others.

Besides, the film 'Ghraan' won Best Short Film Award at the 6th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival in 2016. The film also won the National Film Award 2016 in the Short Film Category. Also, the film participated in the several international film festivals held in Japan, Iran and others.

Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), in cooperation with Goethe Institut, is organising the film show 'German-Bangla movie night'. The film screening is a regular collaboration between DUFS and Goethe Institut held on the last Sunday of every month.

This edition will consist of a German feature film along with a short film made by a Bangladeshi director. A 108-minute German full-length film 'Greetings from Fukushima' directed by Doris Dörrie was also screened.
