SC upholds ex-forest chief Osman Gani's jail terms
Supreme Court has upheld the High Court verdict that also upheld the lower court order sentencing former chief conservator of forest Osman Gani to 12 years in jail in a corruption case.
A three-member bench, led by Justice Md Imam Ali, passed this order on Tuesday.
Earlier on December 15, 2015, the HC upheld the prison sentence of Osman Gani given by a lower court for amassing wealth illegally and concealing information in his wealth statement.
A special court on June 5, 2008, sent Gani to jail for 12 years. It had also fined him Tk 10 lakh, in default, to serve one year more in prison.
