S Alam Group's director Morshedul Alam dies of coronavirus
Morshedul Alam, Director of S. Alam Group, died of coronavirus infection in Chattogram on Friday night. He was 65.
Alam, who was undergoing treatment at Chattogram General Hospital, died at about 10:45pm.
Morshedul Alam was admitted to the Chattogram's Specialised General Hospital on Thursday evening with severe breathing complications. He was kept at the isolation ward of the hospital.
He was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) as his condition deteriorated. He previously also been experiencing heart disease as he previously rings in his heart, his members of the family said.
Though his physical condition was stable during the day on Friday, he suffered an enormous coronary attack at about 7:30pm. Later, the doctors pronounced him as dead at 10:45pm.
Morshedul Alam was the elder brother of S Alam Group’s chairman and Managing Director Saiful Alam Masud. He was also the Chairman of NRB Global Bank Limited.
Besides, he was the Managing Director of S Alam Super Edible Oil Mills Limited and Director (Marketing) of Chemon Ispat Limited.
Six of the family including Morshedul Alam and S Alam Group's Vice-Chairman Abdus Samad Labu tested positive for coronavirus at Chittagong Medical College Hospital's lab on, may 17. Since then that they had been residing at isolation in their respective houses at Nasirabad Housing Society in Chattogram city.
Confirming about the death of elder brother, Abdus Samad Labu said, "We'll bury our elder brother at our village home in Patiya. He will be buried beside our father's grave."
