Registration begins for Dhaka International Folk Fest 2018
Dhaka International Folk Fest 2018 will begin from November 15 and run till 17 at capital's Banani Army Stadium. The online registration process for the biggest folk festival of South Asia will start from Tuesday.

This three-day-long festival will take place every day from 6 pm to 12 am where 174 artists from 7 countries including Bangladesh will come under one umbrella to celebrate the music of the heart.

The festival will be bigger this year because Grammy award winner Los Texmaniacs from the USA, Dikanda from Poland and Las Migas from Spain will be a part of this biggest celebration of folk music. 

Maestro artistes like Momotaz Begom, Baul Abdul Hai Dewan, Baul Kabir Shah, Arnob, Nakshikatha, Swarobanjo and Bhabna Nritya Dol will be performing from Bangladesh. 

Wadali Brother's, The Raghu Dixit Project, Satyaki Banerjee from India; Shafqat Amanat Ali from Pakistan; Majaz from Bahrain will also add vibrancy to the spirit of this fest with their performances.  

The registration for DIFF 2018 was announced in a press conference on Monday which was arranged by the festival organizers Sun Communications LTD and Sun Foundation. 

Anjan  Chowdhury,  Chairman of Sun  Communications  LTD and Sun Foundation,  Abul Khayer, Chairman of Bengal Foundation, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, CEO and Managing Director of Dhaka Bank   Limited,   Mahmud   Hossain,   Chief   Business   officer  of Grameenphone, and folk legend Momotaz Begom, MP were the attendees of the conference. 

About the festival, Momotaz said: "This is a big show and generally artists should have taken the responsibility of organizing it. However, we could not take such a big step therefore my heartfelt gratitude for Sun Foundation to make the festival possible."
