Youth held for raping school girl
Police on Monday night arrested a young man allegedly for raping a schoolgirl in Dhaur area under Turag Police Station in Dhaka.
Arrested Shohag is a garment worker and he lives in a rented house in the area, said Turag Police Station inspector Dulal Hossain.
The inspector said the accused violated the victim after taking her in an abandoned house in the area in the evening.
The victim lodged a case against accused Shohag with the police station around 8:30pm in this connection.
Soon after the case was filed, police arrested the young man around 9:30pm.
The victim was admitted to One Stop Crisis Center of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the inspector added.
Quoting the victim, police said Shohag is a married person and lives in the are along with wife. Six months ago, he developed an extra-marital relation with the victim, also his neighbour. He raped her promising to marry her.
