President mourns death of Prof Jamilur Reza
President M Abdul Hamid on Tuesday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of National Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury.
In a condolence message, the top of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, reports BSS.
A former adviser to the Caretaker Government, Prof Jamilur Reza died of coronary attack in his city’s Dhanmondi residence at age 77.
He was the founding vice-chancellor (VC) of BRAC University and was also working as the VC of the University of Asia Pacific.
Ekushey Padak Awardee, Prof Choudhury was a civil engineer who graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
