PM announces incentives for doctors, nurses, health workers
The government has made a decision to provide incentives for doctors, nurses, health personnel and other employees because of their brave efforts in tackling the coronavirus situation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced Tuesday (April 7).

She said, "I want to reward those that were engaged directly in the fight COVID-19 since March."

The Prime Minister was delivering her introductory speech in a video conference with the public representatives and public officials from 15 districts of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions from her official residence Ganobahaban.

Besides, Sheikh Hasina said you will have a health insurance for them if they're infected with COVID-19 while discharging their duties which is Tk 5-10 lakh. If anyone dies, the volume of medical insurance will be five times higher, she said.

PM Sheikh Hasina also said doctors who denied treating patients have no rights to continue their jobs.

As of Tuesday, the total number of confirmed coronavirus positive cases now stands at 164 in the united states, with the death toll at 17.

The confirmed number of worldwide coronavirus cases stands at 1,359,060 while 75, 906 died and 293,454 persons fully recovered, according to Worldometer (Bangladesh Time 5pm).
