Plane with 4kg gold seized at Shahjalal Airport
A team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) has seized 40 gold bars from a seat of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ flight at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday (November 23).
40 gold bars, weighing around 4kg and 640 grams, are approximately worth Taka 2 crore 32 lakhs.
The seized plane was identified as BG-048, coming from Dubai.
Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Sajjad Hossain told Banglanews: “Legal action has been taken against the seized gold bars under customs act. The plane was also seized.”
