No water vessel services for 12-hr at night
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended all water vessel services on Sadarghat-Gabtoli route for 12 hours everyday, starting from Saturday (March 30) night for dredging in the Turug River.
BIWTA have asked the authorities concerned to halt all river vessel services every night until further notice for the sake of uninterrupted dredging work in the Turag river in Basila area, according to press release of BIWTA.
Operation of water vessel services on Sadarghat-Gabtoli route also remains suspended every night for 12 hours (from 6:00pm to 6:00am) to avert any untoward accident on the route as dredging work is scheduled to begin from today, it added.
