No rally blocking road: DMP
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam has said the BNP will not be allowed to hold rally in front of its Nayapaltan Central Office blocking roads that creates suffering for people.
He came up with the statement at a press briefing held at the DMP's media center on Monday.
"BNP wanted to hold a rally marking the anniversary of the 11th national election. But we did not give them the permission because today is a working day," the DMP commissioner said.
He said, "We will not allow any political programmea blocking roads on working days."
Meanwhile, BNP announced a protest procession in the city for Tuesday protesting police interruption in its pre-scheduled rally.
