'National Children's Drama and Cultural Festival' going on
The 14th edition of National Children's Drama and Cultural Festival is going on in full swing on the premises of BSA, inaugurated on Friday. The nine-day event has jointly been organized by People's Theatre Association (PTA) and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
On the second day of the festival, Swapnaswar Natyadal from Moulvibazar staged the drama 'Swapna Bhanga', district Shilpakala Academy (Satkhira) staged 'Dalim Kumar', Moitree Shishudal staged 'Shishnath', BSA staged 'Obak Jolpan' and Shishu Kishore Natyadal from Jhenaidah staged 'Kanur Banshi' at the Experimental Theatre Hall of BSA.
Besides, dedicating to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the child artistes from district made a garden in the open space of National Music and Dance Centre of BSA on Saturday.
Yesterday, on the third day, Bhor Holo Natyadal from Rajshahi staged 'Prasanna Prakriti', Natya Niketan from Sirajganj staged 'Chhuti', while artistes from Rangamati and Joypurhat Shilpakala Academy staged 'Taronyer Ahwoban' and 'Pakhir Daan' respectively at the Experimental Theatre Hall of BSA. Artistes from the district academy also staged their dramas at the Studio Theatre Hall and Music and Dance Auditorium of BSA.
Besides, artistes from district academy presented music, dance and drew painting at the National Art Plaza of BSA.
This year, a total of 10,000 child artistes from 64 districts are going to stage a total of 95 theatrical plays and exhibit 85 performances every day at 8 venues of BSA from September 20 to 28.
The festival also features dance, recitation, drawing, the Historic 7th March Speech, acrobatic show, and also performances by the specially-able children.
