Nano tech smart-window offers you air-conditioning without the power consumption
Wouldn’t it be nice if your window had an adjustable mesh that would expand to allow more light and air when it's needed, and contract when you don’t?
Here at the ongoing Bengaluru Nano India show, among the more immediately useful technologies showcased is one produced by the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS).
The Bengaluru-based tech centre is rolling out a smart window manufactured from aluminium interspersed with glass that may regulate the light and air coming into your apartment or office, thereby letting you arrive or down the light and air-conditioning as is comfortable for you.
In particular, the perfect solution is is tailor-made for the construction industry to build buildings that usually do not trap heat and for that reason need less energy. This technology can even be used in the auto industry.
It’s an acknowledged fact that glass facades raise the temperature inside a building, because of which persons use air-conditioning and fans. In the nanotech smart window, the capability to transparency of the window varies between 0 and 90 %, according to your requirement. In summer, only 10 per cent of light is allowed to enter, thereby minimizing the warming up of a room. Conversely, in winter, maximum light or heat could be allowed in, keeping the interiors warmer. This reduces or minimizes utilization of ac units or room heaters.
