'More Indian smartphone buyers look for quality over price', says study
In a myth bursting study conducted on popular smartphone makers’ by RedQuanta, a clear bias towards quality was seen among Indians across 16 major cities of the country. Over a thousand respondents clearly showed their biggest purchase trigger is the quality of a smartphone.
According to Mr. Chetan Shetye, Head of Research at RedQuanta, “The Indian consumer has evolved beyond the stereotype that Price is the prime purchase trigger. Now, the concept has evolved into Value for Money and the quality quotient of the phone.”
Xiaomi has topped the list in both the above parameters of Value for Money and Quality as well. When it comes to quality, overall performance is the driver of the perception. Durability & Battery Life primarily drives performance as per the consumers. Price perception, according to consumers, was a function of Value for Money.
Xiaomi ranks number one ahead of Samsung (who is second in the ranking).
