Molla Jalal elected BFUJ president
Journalist Molla Jalal was elected the president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

He bagged 974 votes to beat his nearest rival Omar Faruk.

Omar Faruk got 972 votes. 

Alamgir Hossain, chairman of the committee for directing the election, announced the results Saturday noon (July 28). 

The voting took place 9am to 5pm July 13.

The polls result for the president post was earlier halted over allegations from the candidates. 

Earlier, Shaban Mahmud and Dip Azad were announced secretary general and treasurer respectively.
