Mobile court fines 11 brick kilns, a sawmill
A mobile court on Wednesday, has imposed a total of Tk 1,28,000 monetary penalty on 11 brick kilns and a sawmill in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi for constructing illegal and unplanned brick kilns.
It is learned that illegal construction of brick kilns in different areas of the upazila has been continuing to pollute the environment in the name of business.
On Wednesday, Rajshahi Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Arafat Aman conducted a drive in the area and fined the illegal establishment. Bagmara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zakibul Islam specially cooperated in the drive.
The Upazila Nirbahi Officer said the ongoing drive against the construction of the un-revamped pond and environment pollution brick kiln will continue.
