Meetings, processions banned in Bhola
The local administration imposed an indefinite ban on all types of meetings, rallies and processions in the district, a day after clashes between protesters and police claimed four lives.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Masud Alam Siddique told Banglanews that the decision was taken to maintain law and order and the ban will remain effective until further notice.

As leaders and activists under the banner of All Party Muslim Unity Council staged demonstration at Press Club premises, additional law enforcers were deployed there, Banglanews correspondent reports.

Earlier on Sunday, four persons died and many injured in Sunday’s clash in Borhanuddin upazila following the clashes.

According to police and locals, messages containing derogatory remarks about Allah and Prophet Muhammad were sent to several persons from the Facebook ID of Biplob Chandra Shuvo. Screenshots of the messages went viral on Facebook, triggering condemnation and protests.

Following the incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members were deployed in Borhanuddin upazila of the district.
