Man held in Sylhet over ‘anti-state’ Facebook post
Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested a man from Shekherkhil area in South Surma upazila on Monday (Feb 11) midnight on charge of posting anti-state remarks on his facebook page.

Arrestee was identified as Md Masum Ahmad, 37, son of Abdul Muhit of Shekhergaon village in South Surma upazila.

On information, a team of RAB-9 arrested Masum from Bhartakhola area in the city, said a RAB press release issued on Tuesday (Feb 12) morning.

Masum has been sharing anti-state and provocative posts and contents on facebook for long and posted photos of the prime minister, several ministers, Chief Election Commissioner and other national personalities with derogatory comments, added the press release.

A case was filed with South Surma Police Station under Digital Security Act accusing Masum and then he was handed over to the police station.
