Kuwait suspends Wataniya’s licence
Kuwaiti airline Wataniya has had its licence suspended following a series of flight cancellations that left passengers stranded, a senior government official confirmed on September 5.
Dr Jenan Boushehri, Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Services said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had decided to suspend the airline for three months, according to state news agency KUNA.
The suspension came after Wataniya board members said at a press conference on September 5 that the airline was forced to cancel flights to destinations including Istanbul, Baku and Sarajevo after three planes went out of service and it was unable to find replacements.
