Jyoti's film 'Rajlokkhi O Srikanto' slated for release
Popular Bangladeshi actress Jyotika Jyoti-starrer Indian Bengali film titled 'Rajlokhi O Srikanto' has been slated for release in Kolkata theatres on September 20. With this film directed by eminent Indian filmmaker Pradipta Bhattacharyya, Jyoti is going to make her silver screen debut in Tollywood film industry.
Inspired by the first volume of renowned Bengali litterateur Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel 'Srikanta' written 100 years back, the story and screenplay of 'Rajlokhi O Srikanto' has been written on the concept of the modern era.
Jyoti will be seen portraying Rajlokhi, a lead role in the film, opposite Indian actor Ritwick Chakraborty, who will be playing Srikanta-another lead role in the film. Getting positive response for both film's trailer and poster release, the actress is eagerly waiting for the film's release.
Jyoti said about the film, "The viewers should watch the film for realizing how director Pradipta Bhattacharyya presented a 100-year-old story through the eyes of modern time. The viewers will witness entirely different Rajlokhi and Srikanto than they ever imagined.
Making her debut in the Dhaka film industry with actress Kobori-directed 'Ayna', Jyoti appeared in a number of films till now, such as Belal Ahmed 'Nondito Noroke', Tanveer Mokammel's 'Rayeba' and 'Jibon Dhuli', Morshedul Islam's 'Anil Bagchir Ekdin and Masud Pathik's 'Maya the Lost Mother, among others.
