JS body pushes for raising age limit to 35 for civil service
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Administration Ministry has once again recommended that the government take necessary steps for raising the age limit for entry into public service to 35 years from the existing 30 years.

It also suggested increasing the retirement age as well, reports UNB.

The parliamentary watchdog came up with the recommendations from its 31st meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday with its Chairman HN Ashiqur Rahman in the chair, said a Parliament Secretariat release.

The committee also recommended taking immediate steps to merge BCS (Administration) and BCS Economic Cadre for the sake of the country's development management.

It asked the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry to introduce online payment for land management and government fees for buying and selling land and bring transparency in the fees of birth certificate registrations.

The committee suggested placing a proposal in its next meeting for readjustment (cadre composition) of the Bangladesh Betar posts enhancing the DG post to grade-1.

Committee members State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadeq, ABM Fazle Rashid Chowdhury, RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, Mohammad Abdullah, Mustafa Lutfullah and Khorshed Ara attended the meeting.
