Teenage girl’s body exhumed after 9 months
MAGURA: The body of a teenage girl, who reportedly committed suicide nine months ago, was exhumed for fresh autopsy on Wednesday (January 24).
The deceased girl is Tasneem Koly, 16, daughter of Ikbal Hossain of Council Para area in Magura district town. Koly took part in SSC examinations in 2017. Her hanging body was recovered from her residence on April 03 in 2017.
Following the court order, the body of Koly was exhumed from the grave of Magura municipality in presence of Magura’s executive magistrate Khurshed Alam Chowdhury.
Koly’s mother alleged that her daughter was killed after rape. She did not commit suicide. The mother accused four people in this connection. After that, the court asked the authorities concerned to exhume the body of Koly for conducting a fresh autopsy.
Sub-inspector (SI) of Magura sadar police station Ashraful Islam told Banglanews that the body was buried in that time without post-mortem following the application of the parent.
Koly’s mother Hosne Ara Begum alleged that she was under pressure to sign a paper that her daughter committed suicide and they were not willing for autopsy.
