Jaya opens up about her age slamming rumors
Popular actress Jaya Ahsan kept testing her limits by doing films after films in both Bangladesh and Kolkata. After winning thousands of hearts of small screen audience, she stepped into acting in films and since then she hasn't looked back. She reached to the peak of her success with her personality and acting skill.
A teaser of her recent film 'Crisscross' has been released recently and the film is awaiting release in Kolkata. The teaser and the songs of the film that were released earned tremendous acclamation from her fans. However, the shamers are not sitting idle as well. Jaya has been plagued with the trolls and rumors about her age. At last the actress has opened up about her age slamming the shamers as per the request of her family and friends.
In a recent post in Facebook, she wrote, "Many are saying that I am 46 years old. I have always enjoyed all the rumors like its nothing. Some of my friends or colleagues of the same age who are only a year or two, older than me misled the media about my age. They thought it to be their right and I have ignored it thinking it funny."
"However, maybe most people have taken my silence as acceptance. While shamers used my silence as weapon against me and they are still enjoying by misleading the media about my age," she added.
"In this case, I want to tell for the first and last time that a true artist should never be judged by her/his age, rather by his/her work. Not a single film industry in the world think that an artist cannot work or act in a youthful character if he/she is 46 or 56 or more than that," she further wrote.
However, Jaya does not want to put shamers and critics in the same category. She is grateful to the critics and thinks that constructive criticism can lead an artist to his/her desired destination. "I have always tried to follow the criticism and improved my acting."
She said her age is not 46 and her parents were not even married 46 years ago, let alone they have met.
