IS claims undertaking explosion in Dhaka's police station
Islamic State (IS), a global militant organisation, has claimed undertaking explosion inside Pallabi Police Station on Bangladesh's capital Dhaka in Wednesday.
Five people including four policemen were injured in the violent explosion that had happened in the morning.
In a Twitter content to SITE Intelligence Group, the IS has claimed that it completed the explosion.
The Can be claimed undertaking the attack at Pallabi Law enforcement Station in a post delivered to the Twitter account of Rita Katz, director of the website which monitors militant threats and attacks all over the world.
In a Twitter at about 8:46pm on Wednesday, Rita Katz also said the IS claimed undertaking an attack targetting the authorities Headquarters in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka.
The Site Intelligence Group also discovered that it's the first attack of the IS in Bangladesh after August 2019.
Dhaka Metropolitan Law enforcement (DMP) public relations department's deputy commissioner Walid Hossain also confirmed about the explosion inside Pallabi Law enforcement Station on Wednesday morning hours.
The injured were Pallabi Police Station's inspector (Investigation) Imran, 48, sub-inspector Sajib, 30, ASI Angkush, 28, Rumi, 28 and civilian Reaz.
Two of the injured policemen are actually undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Medical center, while one is reciving treatment at an eye hospital found in the capital.
Reaz received injuries in his left and best suited hands and found in the abdomen.
DMP's DC (PR) Walid Hossain said law enforcement seized two firearms, four rounds of bullet and an electronic weighing machine even while arresting three thugs after Tuesday midnight.
Through the questioning of the arrested persons at the police station, the weighing model kept in the work officer's bedroom suddenly exploded with an enormous sound, leaving four police officers and a civilian injured.
A police official said window panes and furniture stored inside duty officer's room were badly damaged in the explosion. Following explosion, panic gripped the police officials and constables working within the police station.
Receiving information, different intelligence organizations of police, RAB and reliability officials monitoring the militant activities rushed to the authorities station worried. Criminal Investigation Section of law enforcement was trying to acquire evidence from the location.
