International Women’s Day observed
The International Women’s Moment was observed in the united states in a befitting fashion on Monday with a call for building a " new world " that ensures equal rights for women and men.

On the eve of your day, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages, greeting all women across the world on Sunday.

Marking the day, various programmes had been chalked out in the city while the inaugural programme of the day started with lightening up candle in the first of all hour of the day in Central Shaheed Minar. Amrai Pari Paribarik Nirajaton Protirodh Jote (WE CAN) organized the function.

Besides, the ladies and Children Affairs Ministry organized a function in Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium in 10.30am.

Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina joined up with the function as chief guest through a videoconferencing from her official Ganabhaban home.

At the function, five successful ladies were given the very best Joyeeta awards with crest and cheque for Taka 100,000 each.

Meanwhile, a seminar titled ‘Muktijuddhe Nari’ was held in the National Press Golf club on the occasion of the International Women’s Working day. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni addressed the seminar as the principle guest with JPC President Farida Yeasmin in the chair.

JPC Managing Committee Member Ayub Bhuiyan conducted the seminar.

Besides, the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) brought out a good colourful rally from its premises. The rally led by DRU President Mursalin Nomani and General Secretary Masiur Rahman Khan finished at the same location after parading different metropolis streets.

Later, a good cake was cut in the DRU office found in the city’s Segunbagicha spot on the occasion.

Marking your day, Bangladesh Kishani Sabha, Readymade Garments Employees Federation, Bangladesh Floating Girls Personnel Union, Bangladesh Krishak Federation, Bangladesh Bhumiheen Samiti, Bangladesh Sramik Federation, Bangladesh Establishing and Wood Staff Federation, Ganatantrik Garment Sramik Karmachari Federation, Abhibasi Nari Sramik Discussion board, Imarat Nirman Sramik Union Bangladesh and Bangladesh Jatiya Sramik Federation jointly produced a human chain before the JPC.

Later, they presented a good procession and paraded different streets found in the city.

Besides, the alliance of anti-cancer, voluntary and females organizations observed the day with different programmes.

Marking your day, 13 voluntary and women businesses led by Community Oncology Centre Trust presented a token street-march titled “Jananir Jonyo Padajatra” at 11am in the city’s Lalmatia area.

A conversation titled “Reproductive Health insurance and Cancer: How very much the Women are Aware” happened at the Oncology Middle at 11.30am. Dr Md Habibullah Talukder Raksin executed the debate.

Later, cancer related suggestions, including clinical breast examination, were provided to girls at cost free. Community Oncology Centre Trust Secretary and LEADER Mosarrat Jahan Sourabh supervised the no cost medical service campaign.

The International Women’s Day time (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 each year. It is a focal point in the activity for women’s rights.

Following the Socialist Party of America organised a Women’s Day on February 28, 1909 in New York, the 1910 International Socialist Woman’s Conference suggested a Women’s Day be held annually.

After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there.
