Inter-district bus terminals to be removed from city
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said inter-district bus terminals will be removed from the city in phases by adopting alternative steps.  

He said for this, initiatives have been taken to expedite the work including selecting the sites. Steps will also be taken to solve other problems as well as transportation.

He said Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) has approved 64 parking spots, proposed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in the city aiming to improve car parking facility.

Dhaka city corporations are asked to construct bus bay along city roads and set up city forest at a smaller scale in city’s convenient areas by evicting illegal establishments, he added.

The minister told reporters after the 13th board meeting of DTCA at Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Sunday (December 1).

Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sayeed Khokon, Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Huque, Narayanganj city mayor Selina Hayat Ivy, Narayanganj-2 lawmaker Nazrul Islam Babu, Gazipur mayor Md Jahangir Alam, Roads Transport and Highway Division secretary Md Nazrul Islam and Railways secretary Md Mofazzel Hossain, among others, were present at the meeting.
