Hossainpur OC, SI withdrawn
Hossainpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Hossain and Sub-Inspector Rehanul Alam have been withdrawn to the police line.
Arafatul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Hossainpur Circle), on Monday (May 13) confirmed this information to Banglanews.
Locals said inhabitants of two villages locked into clashes in phases over a trivial matter on Wednesday (May 8).
On information, a team of police rushed in and fired 113 rounds of bullets and 11 tear shells to bring the situation under control, leaving 50 people, including cops, injured.
On the following day, police filed a case accusing 2,500 villagers on charge of obstructing police to discharge of their official duties.
Over the incident, the OC and SI Rehanul Alam have been withdrawn.
