Highest power generation record in country’s history
Bangladesh has touched the highest power generation in the country’s history.
The power plants produced 12,539-megawatt electricity on May 21, wich is a new record, according to the Power Development Board (PDB).
On May 7 this year, the production was 12,214MW.
The PDB authority claimed, there was no power cut in the day of record production.
According to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the number of power plants increased to 108 from 27 when the ruling Awami League government came into power in 2009. More plants hiked Bangladesh’s power generation capacity to 20,000MW from 3,000MW.
