DHAKA: The High Court issued a rule asking why the bail for AB Bank’s former Chairman M Wahidul Haque and Treasurer Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal would not be cancelled, in a case filed over Tk 165 crores laundering.
The court also directed Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), plaintiff of the case, to take necessary steps so that the two accused can’t fly abroad.
Besides, Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistarte Court has been asked to send the case documents to the HC.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the order Wednesday (January 31), responding a plea from ACC.
Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan moved for the ACC at the courtroom.
“A trial court earlier granted bail for the two on January 25. The HC has issued rule to cancel the bail”, he said.
The HC fixed February 14 for the next hearing.
ACC Assistant Director Md Gulshan filed the case with Motijheel Police Station, accusing eight people including Wahidul and Abu Hena on accusation of laundering Tk 165 crores abroad in 2013-2014.
