Hasan unveils Bangladesh Betar Apps for mobile phones
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday unveiled ‘Bangladesh Betar’, an software for mobile phones, which creates an chance to broadcast and also to hear the programmes of Bangladesh Betar on mobile phones around the world.

The minister inaugurated the applications marking the 81st founding anniversary of the Betar (radio) which started its journey on December 16 in 1939.

State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan, Information Secretary Khaja Mia, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud, amongst others, were within the function with Bangladesh Betar director general Hosne Ara Talukder in the chair.

Before addressing the function, Hasan inaugurated the ‘Bangladesh Betar Apps’ and airing of Betar Chattogram center programmes in every over the united states through Bangabandhu Satellite.

Speaking on the occasion, the info minister said it is now the era of social media and persons are using cell phones. Like earlier, persons don’t listen radio at indoors or outdoors because they have mobiles, he added.

“After taking the charges of the ministry, I thought the wireless radio should be taken into mobile otherwise it'll be difficult to popularize the Betar. Because of this, I urged the concerned authority of Betar of take steps so that persons can hear the programmes of Betar from cell phones through apps. Now, people of worldwide can hear the programmes of six centers through cell phones,” he said.

The minister put focus on popularizing the apps as people would not get the facilities if they have no the apps. Because of this, it is important to handle publicity in media to popularize the apps, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

He said Chattogram may be the second major city in the united states and steps has been taken to air the programmes of Chattogram center at all centers.

The minister also gave directives to do something to bring other centers in this initiative.

Replying to comments of BNP, Hasan said Bangladesh, surprising the world, is among the best in 22 countries on the globe by holding a phonetic GDP in the midst of this Corona epidemic under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
But, BNP couldn’t start to see the development. They have become isolated through spreading hatred and creating confusion among the people.

Earlier, the minister and the state minister inaugurated disability facility lift of the Betar.
